Awareness of the climate emergency

Raising awareness of the climate emergency is a way to actively encourage citizens to participate in the democratic process and in the preservation of the public interest.
  • Promotion of awareness campaigns via various means of communication (image, video, text)

  • Amplification through social networks (interactions, community management, content creation)

2022

  • 43 outreach activities (on the street, at markets, festivals and political demonstrations, as well as via door-knocking and mailbox flyer distributions) have been organised.
  • More than 50 honorary and voluntary workers of the CMA have distributed 7’700 flyers and engaged in hundreds of conversations.

2023

  • 40 public appearances in panel discussions, lectures at schools or universities, interviews in the context of research work.

2024

  • Art performance “No art on a planet without people in collaboration with artist Claudia Cantoni at the Art Basel fair 2024.
  • Information stands, presentations, film screenings, games and music at the “Ensemble pour le Climat” festival in Lausanne.
  • Staging of a mock funeral in the city center of Zürich with over 200 participants.

Information talks and conferences on climate emergency

The Information talks and climate emergency conferences are a free and accessible means of information for every citizen. They address the current scientific facts about the climate situation and possible ways of action.
The talks and conferences are also a place for discussion and sharing for anyone concerned about their future and seeking to engage with it.

Non-violence trainings

Non-violence has a long political tradition in the wake of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
The nonviolence trainings allow participants to discover the methods of nonviolent action and to learn how to use them to take an active part in the democratic process.
  • Non-Violent Action Workshops about history, theory and strategies of non-violent civil disobedience, and their relevance for social movements in the context of the climate emergency

Shared-Governance trainings and community events

Shared-Governance trainings focus on theory and practice of collaboration and participatory decision-making to create an inclusive and empowering social movement.
Community events are accessible and caring spaces in which participants are led to discover new ways of living, acting, organising and relating to themselves, to others and to nature.

  • First Summer Academy from 28 to 30 June in Biel/Bienne with a broad variety of publicly accessible workshops covering topics such as non-violence, eco-feminism, shared governance and inner relationship focusing.
