Activities are offered by the Association Mobilisation Climat to the entire Swiss population, without limits of age, sex, gender, origin, culture, belief, religion, race, social situation or language.

Awareness of the climate emergency

Raising awareness of the climate emergency is a way to actively encourage citizens to participate in the democratic process and in the preservation of the public interest.
To achieve this goal, the Climate Mobilisation Association offers the activities below:
  • Promotion of awareness campaigns via various means of communication (image, video, text)
  • Press and media liaison (releases, contacts)
  • Amplification through social networks (interactions, community management, content creation)
  • In 2022, 43 outreach activities (on the street, at markets, festivals and political demonstrations, as well as via door-knocking and mailbox flyer distributions) have been organised. More than 50 honorary and voluntary workers of the CMA have distributed 7’700 flyers and engaged in hundreds of conversations.
  • In 2023, 40 public appearances in panel discussions, lectures at schools or universities, interviews in the context of research work.

Conferences on climate emergency

The Climate Emergency Conferences are a free and accessible means of information for every citizen. They address the current scientific facts about the climate situation and possible ways of action.
The conferences are also a place for discussion and sharing for anyone concerned about their future and seeking to engage with it.
  • Regular events in the main Swiss cities (Lausanne, Geneva, Zurich, Neuchâtel, Biel, Basel), and on request
  • Meetings in German, French, Italian and English, online and in person
  • Discussion and sharing circles
  • In 2022, the CMA supported and financed 171 Information Talks, either online or in presence, in 15 cities across Switzerland. 108 events have been held in French, 62 in German, 1 in Italian, and 1 in English. In total, an impressive 736 participants have attended the Information Talks.
  • In 2023, 163 Information Talks delivered to a total of 289 participants.

Non-violence trainings

Non-violence has a long political tradition in the wake of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
The nonviolence trainings allow participants to discover the methods of nonviolent action and to learn how to use them to take an active part in the democratic process.
The following spaces are proposed:
  • Discovery Workshops on non-violence theory and social movements
  • Workshops on non-violent communication and conflict management
  • In 2022, the CMA conducted 3 communication workshops and 5 personal coaching sessions for spokespeople.
  • In 2022, 19 nonviolent action trainings have been conducted in 4 cities (Biel/Bienne, Neuchâtel, Lausanne, Zürich) for a total of 150 participants.
  • In 2023, 15 spokespeople workshops conducted.
  • In 2023, 17 nonviolent actions trainings delivered for a total of 50 participants.

Educational and fun events

Educational and recreational events are accessible and caring spaces in which participants are led to discover new ways of living, acting, organising and relating to themselves, to others and to nature.
The activities offered by the Climate Mobilisation Association for this purpose are the following:
  • Workshops on shared governance and campaign management
  • Concerts
  • Spaces for discovery of self and others
  • Workshops to connect with nature
  • In 2022, 18 lectures on governance and 14 lectures on facilitation have been delivered to a total of 57 participants, supplemented by 40 hours of individual coaching.
  • In 2022, weekly Trust & Courage Sessions have been offered online from May until November and 3 in-depth events have been organised: One evening in Lausanne to talk about “Reconcile his/her commitment and his/her entourage” and two workshops in Bern on the respective topics of “Work that reconnects” and “Reconcile his/her commitment and his/her entourage”.
  • In 2023, 72 hours of workshops on shared-governance practices delivered, 33 participants trained.
  • In 2023, 19 life coaching sessions conducted; 11 emotional support sessions conducted; 1 personal coaching sessions conducted; and a mental-health support hotline is in operation.
